EDUCATION FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH EPILEPSY

Epilepsy information sessions & training

When a person with epilepsy understands their condition and is involved in the development of their Epilepsy Management Plan, there are many benefits for the individual.

The Epilepsy Foundation runs a variety of general information sessions as well as our Epilepsy Specialist Series, which is sessions with an epilepsy specialist on specific topics of interest, such as surgery and caring for children with epilepsy.

If you have epilepsy, or a family member or friend has epilepsy, these free sessions will help you gain a greater understanding of how to manage the condition, including useful first aid knowledge.

The Epilepsy Foundation also runs training for people with epilepsy and their families and/or carers in Emergency Medication Administration - Midazolam or Rectal Valium.  These sessions are invaluable in giving participants practical experience with the administration of emergency medication, enabling them to administer medication in an emergency situation with confidence.
